This coming Saturday in Grünsfeld at the Alpha Fighters again the Cage rocked! The German Top Team calls for the ninth time to the tournament between the schools of the GTT throughout Germany and so far fighters from nine schools have already registered. In all performance and age classes can be fought in Jiu-Jitsu (with kimono) and in Luta Livre (without kimono).
The German Top Team interclub tournaments are designed to give the team's competitors the opportunity to prepare for bigger competitions outside in a safe environment. With only 30 Euro entry fee one can compete in four classes and so a lot of fights are guaranteed. The record for the most fights in one day is currently still held by Sven Fortenbacher, who completed a total of 13 fights in Jiu-Jitsu and Luta Livre in one tournament.
The fight will be in submission only mode, i.e. without points and advantages. A special treat this time is the introduction of the "Battle Royal" of the Team Coaches. Each school of the German Top Team can register one of their Jiu-Jitsu or Luta Livre coaches to represent the school in this tournament. In the tournament each coach fights against all other coaches. Once a year, this is to determine the GTT's most competitive coach and award them with a 24 karat gold plated winner's trophy. In the current field of participants this year there are already 3 black belts, two brown and two purple belts in Luta Livre and Jiu-Jitsu. So you can expect top-class fights in this tournament of the extra class.
Entries for all members of a school of the German Top Team association are still possible until Thursday inclusive via the official page on Smoothcomp.
