Grigori Winizki is an all-round samurai
He is a man of many faces - he feels at home in the Shooto, just as in the Shidokan Karate or grappling at ADCC Germany at home; an absolute all-rounder. We're talking about Grigori Winizki, who fights the co-main event of the upcoming SHOOTO KINGS IX: Sengoku. One thing is definitely clear when you look at this man's versatility: he is a fighter through and through, and one is inclined to call him a samurai. Yet he is a teacher of the Samurai Fight Teams Leipzig just as successful as a fighter himself. In any case, he is worth a closer look.
World-class success in kickboxing and karate
For well over a decade Grigori has been one of the outstanding fighters in our country in kickboxing and full-contact karate. At the first World Championships of the Japanese K-1 organization in London (UK) in 2014, he immediately took second place. The world title in Shidokan Karate followed just a few months later in Budapest (Hungary), followed by the vice world title in Shidokan Triathlon 2018 in Uzhorod (Ukraine).
The European championship titles in Shidokan karate and kickboxing round off these incredible successes. So it is more than obvious that the Leipzig native is one of the world's best strikers.
SHOOTO KINGS welcomes an old acquaintance
Also with Shooto Kings Grigori Winizki was already in action. He was present at the birth of Shooto Kings, when in May 2014 the first event was held under the title "Ichiban!". And he was able to successfully make his debut against the Thomas Trautmann. At Shooto Kings III: Sharktank he even stood in the 4-man tournament to fight for the welterweight title of Shooto Germany, but lost in the first fight against the future champion Stefan Larisch.
He returns to Shooto Kings on Dec. 10 to face Georgia's Nika Bregvadze (2-3-0) with identical fight record opposite.
ADCC Germany closed the gaps in Grigori's Game
The ground was always the sticking point for Grigori in the early years of his career. But he has worked extremely hard on this in recent years. A bronze medal at the ADCC German Open this year with an extremely strong international field of participants already showed the right development. This success was crowned by the gold medal at the ADCC National Championships just three months later and two more medals at the Super Series in October.
So Grigori has obviously closed the gaps in his game and will enter the Octagon in Herrenberg top prepared.
The Advance ticket sales is now open online and the beautiful Gym 24 Lifestyle in Herrenberg will provide a fantastic backdrop for the event.
