The famous ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship laid the foundation for modern submission wrestling in 1998. Founded by Sheik Tahnoun Am Zayed Al Nahyan ADCC represents the most prestigious grappling label in the world and is often referred to as the "Olympics of Grappling".
The World Federation is based in the United Arab Emirates and is also represented in Germany by ADCC Germany under the leadership of Peter Angerer, who competed at the World Championships in Abu Dhabi in 2001. Due to the commitment of Peter Angerer, a European Championship of ADCC was held in Germany (Mainz) for the first time in 2016.
Under the direction of Peter Angerer, ADCC Germany is constantly striving to promote the sport of grappling in Germany and continue to make it more popular.
